Formula & Weight Classification

The standard formula used to compute fabric Grams per Square Meter (GSM) is:

GSM = (Weight in grams * 10,000) / Swatch Area in cm²

For standard circular cutters with a diameter of 11.28cm, the area is exactly 100 cm² (0.01 m²), simplifying the calculation to:

GSM = Swatch Weight in grams * 100
